CORONADO GOLF AREA PDF Print E-mail

The Coronado Golf and Beach area is the best-known and longest running beach community in Panama. It’s bordered by the Pacific Ocean with more than 5 kilometers of white and diamond black-grained sand beaches. It was founded in 1941 by Mr. Bob Eisenmann and thanks to the time and effort provided by Bob’s descendants, friends, property owners and the members of the Desarrollo Golf Coronado Staff, this ongoing family concern is considered to be Panama’s first and most successful recreational development. Coronado has an 18-hole, Fazio designed golf course, a beach club and equestrian club and, residential wise, is a mixture of villas, chalets, duplexes and condominiums, surrounded by the most complete infrastructure in the entire Pacific beach area.

Coronado is a family tradition for local Panamanians. It is a resort town akin to the ‘Hamptons’ of the U.S. where many wealthy Panamanian families have their 2nd homes and come mainly on weekends, holidays and during summer vacation (Panamanian schools close for summer vacation from mid-December through mid-March).

Coronado’s size is 2,200 acres and lies between two rivers, the Chame River to the East, and the Las Lajas River to the West. As of mid-2010 there were just over 4800 residences in Coronado, including condominium projects. However, there are less than 700 residents living full-time, year-round in Coronado. Coronado experiences a large increase in population during the ‘dry season’ (December through April) when many expat ‘snowbirds’ and/or retirees come to spend several months in this warm climate.


In addition to being the largest recreational city in the Republic, Coronado is the only beach project that offers all the facilities and comforts that international or local investors look for; which include but are not limited to: 24-hour supermarkets (there are two, El Rey and Super 99), several pharmacies, three veterinarians, multiple hardware stores, many restaurants, three new malls, and a 24-hour emergency medical clinic. It is common knowledge that people who have purchased properties in the surrounding areas always end up coming to Coronado to purchase their everyday items, as well as for social entertainment.

Coronado Real Estate offers both new condominium projects and resale condo units, priced from approx. $240,000.00 to $550,000.00 and higher. It is possible to purchase a lot on or within the gates of the golf course for approx. $130.00m2 to $200.00m2. Outside the golf gates lot prices range from about $95.00m2 to $150.00m2 and, depending upon how close you get to the beach the price per m2 can be as high as $500.00m2 to $1500.00m2.
